The exhibition rooms
The museum has been prepared in 2004 due to the donations of some private collections and a careful historical research work carried out by the Municipal Administration and the cultural association of Antique Chiusa. Through a modern exhibition logic and the wise use of technology, the museum tells the visitor the history of the manufacture, the processing and production processes, with the intention to recreate and transmit emotions, which the manufactured articles and the success of the Factory excited among the inhabitants of Chiusa and the workers.
The first room on the ground floor is dedicated to the history and the diffusion of glass. In the next room a three-dimensional plastic art together with some video installations supply information about the structure of the Factory and the work organization. Furthermore the visitor can admire the most excellent manufactured articles of the Factory in showcases in the middle of the rooms. Some air-conditioned wall-showcases exhibit archival documents and drawings regarding the history, the construction and the events of the Factory.
Ceramics and terracotta articles belonging to the production of Chiusa are exhibited on the upper floor with pieces dating back from the nineteenth-century till the first half of the twentieth-century in the trend of the most typical craftworks tradition in Piedmont.
