The bond that connected Chiusa di Pesio, Mondovì, Roccaforte Mondovì, Vicoforte and Villanova Mondovì for more than two centuries was the common production tradition regarding the ceramics field, recognized on national level, which gave rise to an "industrial district" already from the first half of the nineteenth-century with proper stylistic decoration elements, identified as "Old Mondovì".

In June 2006 the five Bodies decided to join the forces thus starting a convention of municipalities with the aim to develop and carry out a promotional project of the artistic and typical local craftworks, exploiting the potentiality as a territorial marketing instrument. A return to the identity of that industrial district, which nowadays has become an inheritance rich in workshops, craftsmen, artists and a market of lively antique trade, great public and private collections, interesting buildings from the industrial archaeological point of view, cultural associations and initiatives turned to the promotion of the know-how of mankind.
