It is a very nice excursion on the watershed between the Vermenagna Valley and the Pesio Valley with possible alternative route till the summit of Costa Rossa. An itinerary distinguished for its splendid view on the plain and the Maritime Alps.

You start at the place Barat, near Limone Piemonte, taking the road that climbs up the Almellina Valley. Leave the main road after 20 min. and follow the path that goes along the valley. After having left on the right the stream, climb till the first abandoned small villages (small village Almellina) in order to reach the crest. Follow the naked crest crossing the mountain pasture huts till the watershed where you cross a very panoramic path. This path on the left brings you to the summit of the Costa Rossa and on the right to the Colle del Carbone, where it is joined with the GTA path. Follow the indications for Vaccarile starting from the joint with the sign rod and cross the splendid pastures, first from the upper mountain pasture and then from the lower one and then go steep down in the valley that goes along the Pis del Pesio. After having crossed the Pesio stream near a nice fall, you'll reach Gias Fontana and then you follow the main path (leaving the indication for the fauna observation enclosure), which will bring you after a short climb till the Pian delle Gorre. There aren't any sources on the itinerary and therefore it is recommended to take sufficient beverages with you.
