The route winds on the antique path which connected the inhabitants of Carnino Inferiore to Viozene. The information boards positioned along the itinerary show the flora, fauna and the typical karstic phenomenon of these places. The panorama that you can see from the Colla di Carmino allows perceiving the hidden secrets in these mountains: the caves.

This path allows savouring the contact with nature without any excessive physical engagement and enjoying the beautiful panoramas. You start from 1260 m height near the Equipped area  "ër Carmaû"; at the beginning the path goes steep up for about fifty metres and then proceeds slowly entering a nice mixed broad-leaved wood thus reaching the built-up area of Carnino Inferiore (1387 m) in half an hour. Crossing the town you take the path till the junction with the place Tetti Donzelle (1540 m), proceed on the right in a slight climbing towards the Colla di Carnino (1597 m). The path crosses terracing and pastures, core samples of the past agricultural traditions, by now  mostly occupied by wood, till reaching the summit of the Colla. The illustrating boards help the excursionist to go beyond the appearance of this calcareous massifs and reveal the hidden world in the heart of the mountains: the caves. On the opposite side the path slopes down crossing the thick Scots pine wood of the Vene Valley, till reaching (20 min.) the homonymous resurgence (1525 m). A rope bridge allows the crossing while a proper variant has been realized for those ones who want to do this path on the back of a horse. The path proceeds till reaching a junction where you can go up in the more sparse wood and then crosses a vast area of antique terracing occupied by shrubs. The entire area is surrounded by tall and spectacular walls, which accompany the excursion till the vast plateau of  Pian Rosso (1550 m), where the refuge Mongioie stands (2h 30 min. from the start). A bit over the refuge the route meets the path that leads to the Mountain Mongioie. Going down you reach the built-up area of Viozene (1245 m), where the nature path finishes (total 3 hours).
