The speleological exploration of the area began from this very wide carstic complex, one of the most extended ones in Italy. The access to the cave happens from the homonymous basin situated in the upper Tanaro Valley. More than 40 km underground ducts, which are connected among them have been explored up till now with 15 entries and a maximum depth of about 950 m.
