Larzelle wood

The wood, situated in the deep narrow valley of Carnino, in the High Valley Tanaro, between the Lagarè Pass and the Chiesetta Gorge, between 1300 and 1700 m, is mainly constituted of uncinate pine with  arboreal bearing. The Larzelle wood, the most southern pine forest of the entire Alpine arc hosts quite rare animal species like the wall-climbing woodpecker and the chimney sweeper redstart.

Just outside the territory of the Park we also find the Lariceto of the Navette, protected for its naturalistic value like the Community Interest Site.
