The first project for the reintroduction of the vanished species started in the first half of the eighties with the introduction of about thirty roebucks coming from Denmark on the territory of the park. Twenty new heads coming from the Park of the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand arrived during the three following years. The roebuck shows immediately a great capacity of adaptation in the habitat of the Park and colonizes all the protected areas of the Pesio Valley within a few years, excluding the strong rocky areas.
