Bank of the sprout-plasma
The bank operates for the ex situ conservation, that is out of the natural environment, of the vegetal self-sown seeds species in Piedmont, with particular interest for the south-western Alpine area. The bank activity provides for the research, the treatment and the conservation on short or long term of the seeds of the rare e/o threatened vegetal species, of the autochtonous species of biogeographic interest, of the useful species for interventions of re-naturation and of he species of particular scientific or economical interest.
The bank is an interesting knot of the Italian Network of the sprout-plasma banks of the self-sown Italian species and collaborates with the Department of morphophysiology, botanic sector of the university of Turin, with the National Conservatoire Botanique Alpin de Gap en France and with the Millenium Seed Bank of Wakehurst in London.
