Alpine botanical stations
The botanical stations concern delimited surfaces, usable for the public where the most significant vegetal species of the phytogeographical area of the Ligurian and Maritime Alps are kept. The cultivation of the small plants happens in flower-beds which reproduce as accurately as possible the stational conditions of origin in order to avoid any form of modification and erosion of the genetic inheritance.
The sexual (seeds) or vegetative diffusion of the other introduced species (the ones from the valleys and the surrounding valleys) is prevented in order to avoid the possibility of a genetic pollution of the species and the proliferation of non-strictly local bodies.
Both the stations have been conceived according to the most modern and strict conservation models of Alpine botanical gardens and represent one of the few examples of this kind in the European scene.
