Instituted in 1993, the reserve guards an area very rich in archaeological finds from the Roman Era. It is extended on the territory of the Municipality Bene Vagienna for about 213 hectares, while the safeguarding area includes also an area of the Municipality Lequio Tanaro, for a total of 383 hectares. The Reserve disposes over a car park, an equipped area, a self-guided archaeological path and a visit centre.
