Mirabello Castle

It was raised on the Cavanero Mountain in 1569 by Agamemnon III, the last marquis of the Ceva and feudal lord of Chiusa, near a Roman fortification.

The building was composed of three floors. The pivot of the castle was the tower around, with rotating inner stairs. A few years after the construction, with the abandonment of the owners, a slow decline phase started, which was worsened by an earthquake in 1887 and by a violent storm during the winter of the following year. The German cannon shots in 1943 raged further on the building.

Even if the original beauty and solemnity of the structure got lost, the Castle remains a destination of undisputed fascination and guaranteed interest due to the strong impression exercised by the ruins and the dominant position.
