Palace of the Marquis

Seat of the Municipality till the thirties, the Palace of the Marquis was constructed at the end of the XV century according to a document drawn up in 1473 by the Duchess Violante, guardian of the Duke of Savoy, which contained the "permission to carry out a new enclosure". The palace was probably constructed on the ruins of a ruined castle and an antique glassworks. The structure underwent numerous interventions during the centuries: the porch was added at the end of the XVI century and later constructions modified remarkably the original structure. To note the deer heads which decorate the building, distinguishing mark of the marquises relatives of the Duke of Savoy and the painting of Pietro Dolce by Savigliano of 1550 representing the scene of Orlando Furioso.
