It was built at the end of the XIX century in order to face the demands of the increased population.

It is constituted of a nave and two aisles, with the aisleless transept. The façade of 1933 is work of the architect Oreste della Piana.  

The traces of the first parish church are still visible among the new constructions, situated at an elevated position compared to the built-up area. It was an antique aisleless church and was deconsecrated in 1893 due to the construction of the new one.
